Today we bring you a blog post about a large installation and print project for a company called 2 Sisters. We were approached by 2 Sisters who have several manufacturing sites across the UK, they asked us to re-brand their new plant in Derby. This location was the old S&A Foods site which had been acquired by the company. The team got chance to work on a wide range of signage for this project with each presenting there own set of challenges. This project required us to work with a wide range of materials to suit each application, with the experience within our team this is something we were able to adapt to for each phase.
The signs in situ
The internal office reception wall sign is sub-surface clear acrylic attached directly to the wall.
The large main entrance sign is pre-coloured aluminium composite sheeting, cut to size and fitted to a steel framework. The detailing is in 8-10 year cast vinyl. The framework and pillars were painted to match the sign colour and finish things off.
The Totem sign (pictured below) to the reception entrance is constructed using a steel framed skeleton and then cladded with brushed stainless steel face and returns. The oval logo is back illuminated acrylic set in the stainless steel, which has been laser-cut away to enable this to be sited. The RECEPTION lettering is back illuminated, push-through acrylic letters, set in the stainless steel, which has been laser-cut away to enable these to be sited. The lighting is by way of white LED’s for a bright but energy efficient solution, let’s face it it’s nice to have illuminated signage but the running costs associated with this aren’t so appealing, using LED’s is the perfect solution to get around this problem.
